Single Girl's Guide to Valentine's Day

For some of us, February 14 is just another day of the week, but if everyone else is celebrating love, why don’t we do the same! Give “those three little words” a brand new meaning… I LOVE ME! We don’t get work off on Valentine’s Day, so who wants to get all gussied up after a long day when you could take your time, unwind, and have a night all about Y-O-U!

First things first. Get the room ready. Light a few candles to fill the air with your favorite scent. Nashville is the proud home of one of my personal favorite candle manufacturers, Paddywax Apothecary, sold at Serendipity in the 12th South Shopping District. Once you have done so, get your bath running. Some people, myself included, like to rinse of in the shower before a bath, to remove makeup, and wash the day away before relaxing in the tub.

Fill the tub with any sort of Epsom salts, bubble bath solutions, or scented oils that your heart desires. One of the most amazing brands that calls Nashville home is Thistle Farms. This book is all about “discovering your gorgeousness from the inside out.” Give yourself this time to be completely stress free, and feel refreshed and beautiful.

While you are treating yourself, why not give yourself a mani/pedi! The amazing Kendra Scott just released a line of nail polish that is so amazing, and the perfect way to accessorize your hands. She has shades from basic nudes, to glittery statement colors.

When you are single it is so easy to be cynical on Valentine’s Day, but this should not be the case. It is a day to celebrate love, and beauty. So love yourself, and celebrate your beauty! Buy yourself roses, chocolates, and of course, some red wine.
