Chris Young Joins Grande Ole Opry Family

Country music star, Chris Young, got a pleasant surprise on stage at the Grand Ole Opry when Vince Gill invited him to become the newest member on August 29. Gill stated, “I’ll make you a deal...I’ll forgive the session fees if you’ll be the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.” Young replied, “Dang, you got me good...I love you guys. I love everybody here. I love this place.” Not to mention, he looked good too sporting a snazzy blazer.

Captioned on Instagram, “I remember growing up near Nashville listening to and watching the Opry. Since I began my career in music, playing the Opry has always been a highlight. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I would get to join this family. Dreams come true. I’m excited to call this place Home for the rest of my life” (Young).

“Chris loves this so much, this is history in the making,” Brad Paisley told the audience before Young walked out. “You are in the building where someone’s ultimate dream is about to come true.”
