The Old Taylor Can't Come To The Phone Right Now...
Are the days of an innocent Taylor Swift crying over [insert name of ex-boyfriend] and longing for love behind us? The 27-year-old superstar nearly broke the internet last week after clearing out her social media, deleting E V E R Y T H I N G… you can imagine the horror and shock us Swifties felt.
BUT… last week, the old Taylor, “couldn’t come to the phone” because she died and was replaced with a new, edgy, “i-d-g-a-f” Taylor. The singers newest single, “Look What You Made Me Do” is from her highly anticipated album, “Reputation,” dropping on Nov. 10th.
While the pop princess has hinted towards an edgy style in the past, her new grungy look has everyone wondering if her album will follow suit. The cover for her new single features Swift wearing a single chain choker, distressed sweater, dark matte lipstick, and black and white newspaper style print, with gothic type font.
Last night, the singer gave us a more in-depth look at the meaning behind the song, with the release of the, “LWYMMD” music video. The video kicks off in a graveyard, with Swift posing by a tombstone engraved, “Here lies Taylor Swift’s Reputations.” Swift then takes on multiple persona’s, including a bank robber, leader of a female robot squad, and a celebrity involved in a car crash. The video is full of subtle digs at other celebrities and the media… not to mention her drink of choice was to actually sip tea.
I think it’s safe to say that everyone is keeping a close eye on the new Taylor. What controversy she will bring with her new album and style???
