Love Your Body

Kaleigh Kirk

Imagine finally getting nominated for your first grammy, being overjoyed by the news and enthusiastically reaching out to designers to design you a dress for the big night. Now imagine that those designers, instead of being thrilled for the offer, turning around and saying that they won't design a dress for your big night because you aren't "runway" size. Kind of dulls the shine of the excited news you received doesn't it?

This very thing happened to rock star Bebe Rexha upon receiving not one, but two nominations for the 61st Grammy Awards. Nominated for 'Best New Artist' and 'Best Country Duo/Group Performance' for her song "Meant To Be" with Country Duo Florida Georgia Line, understandably, Bebe was floored by the news and reached out to designers to dress her the night. However, certain designers felt the need to body shame her and say that they couldn't dress her because she wasn't "runway size".

Bebe took to Instagram to send the designers a message - and to lift up girls that aren't "runway size". She wrote: "Empower women to love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less then by their size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large! Anddddd My size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys. #LOVEYOURBODY".

YOU GO, BEBE! Any designer should be fortunate enough to dress you for your big night in music. After taking to Instagram, Bebe has received an outpouring of support from models, fans and designers who are offering to dress her for the red carpet.

NStyle Country's own, Designer, Johnathan Kayne retweeted her post saying, "this is a problem and exactly why I love empowering women of all sizes and help them feel beautiful. @BebeRexha we got you gorgeous."

Hopefully those body-shaming designers realize their mistake and learn some #bodylove because everyone is beautiful, no matter what size or shape they are. We look forward to seeing her in a Johnathan Kayne original!
